After scheduling your new patient exam, we’ll send you a questionnaire asking about your medical and dental history, prior dental experiences, and smile goals. We respect your time, so you’ll be promptly escorted to a treatment room when you arrive for your appointment. To begin your comprehensive, hour-long consultation and exam, Dr. Ferrick will take some time to get to know you and discuss your satisfaction with your smile, any problems you’re having, and the reason for your visit.

At your in-depth exam, we’ll assess your bite, perform an oral cancer screening, and conduct a tooth-by-tooth evaluation with our non-invasive DIAGNOdent laser. We’ll talk you through each step of the examination, explaining what we’re doing and answering your questions. Pictures from our intraoral cameras displayed on chairside monitors show the condition of your teeth, mouth, gums, and existing dental work. Digital X-rays provide a complete picture of your oral health.

Dr. Ferrick may take a dental impression to use for a smile analysis or diagnostic wax up showing the benefits of specific therapies. Following your exam, we’ll discuss our findings with you and present treatment options to preserve or restore your smile. Before you leave, we’ll take digital photos for your chart and start your complimentary teeth bleaching trays for home use.
